Arched tops
Panels built so their top rails follow the curve of the arch. Measure the width, the height at the top of the arch, and the height at the sides where the curve starts.
Half-rounds
A separate half-round panel for the fan-shaped window that often sits above a rectangle. Measure its width at the base and its height at the centre.
Angled tops
For windows under a sloped ceiling or a gable. Measure the width, the tall side and the short side.
Circles and ovals
Round and oval windows. Measure the full width and the full height through the centre.
What arched shutters cost
An arched window costs more than a rectangle of the same size: the rails are cut to the curve. For example, a 48 × 60 in arched window with flat moulding and paint stage 1 comes to $630 – $990 ($900 – $1,420 CAD).
Half-rounds, angled tops and circles are priced by hand: add them in the designer and we send the price with your quote.
Measuring an arch
- Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom of the straight part, and use the smallest for an inside mount.
- Measure the height at the very top of the arch.
- Measure the height at each side, from the sill to where the curve starts.
- Measure the depth of the opening, so the louvers can tilt.

Do arched shutters open?
Tell us in your notes how you want the arch to work, for example which panels open and whether the curved part tilts, and we confirm the layout with you before anything is made.
How do I measure an arch?
Measure the width at the widest point, the height at the very top of the arch, and the height at the sides where the curve starts. Measure in three places and use the smallest width for an inside mount. We may ask for a photo with a tape measure across the arch.
What do arched plantation shutters cost?
More than a rectangle of the same size, because the curved rails take more work. Choose “Arched top” in the designer and it shows the range for your sizes; the tables on the cost page are for rectangles.
What about half-rounds, angled tops and circles?
We make those too. Add them in the designer with the window shape set, and we price them by hand once we see your measurements.
