Shutters for patio and French doors

Sliding doors need panels that move out of the way; French doors need panels that move with the door. Both are built to your measurements.

Two ways to cover a sliding door

Bypass track shutter layout
Bypass trackPanels slide past each other on a track. For sliding doors.
Bifold shutter layout
BifoldPanels hinged to each other so they fold back in pairs.

Bypass panels hang on a track above the door and slide past each other, so they never swing into the room. They stack over part of the glass when open.

Bifold panels fold back in pairs to the sides and clear more of the glass, but they need floor space to swing.

French doors

Each door gets its own panel, mounted on the door itself, so the shutter opens and closes with it. Measure the glass area of each door separately.

Will the door still open?

On a sliding door, bypass or bifold panels clear the opening when they’re pushed aside. On a hinged French door, the panels mount on the door and swing with it.

What about the door handle?

Tell us where the handle sits and how far it sticks out when you order. We confirm how the panels will clear it before anything is made.
