Privacy notice
This website is run by SEOLO Group LLC under the Shutter Boys brand. This notice covers what we collect through it.
What we collect
- What you type into our forms: name, email, phone (if given), country, ZIP or postal code, your message, and window sizes and options.
- The address of the page you sent the form from.
- Your IP address, which our servers use to block automated spam and may keep in short-lived server logs. It isn’t added to your request.
The designer saves your unfinished windows in your own browser so you can come back to them. That copy stays on your device until you send it or clear it.
The site chat is an AI assistant that runs on our own servers. What you type in it is sent there to write the answer, and we don’t keep the conversation unless you choose “Leave your details”, which sends it with your details so we can follow up. A copy stays in your browser tab until you close the tab or start a new chat.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, so we can improve the site. It sets cookies and sends Google your IP address, browser details and the pages you view. We’ve switched off Google Signals and ad personalisation, so this data isn’t used for advertising, and we don’t use advertising cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics doesn’t load at all. You can also block it with Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or your browser’s settings.
Location cards: our servers read the approximate location (city, state or province) that our network provider, Cloudflare, works out from your IP address. Once you scroll or tap, your browser also checks in with our servers about every 45 seconds while the page is open, under a random number it keeps for this site. We use these to show a small card about shutters where you are, how many other people from your state or province are on the site at that moment, and that someone in a city or area asked for a quote or consult in the last two days, with the number of windows. These facts are kept in our server’s memory only: a check-in for 90 seconds, a request’s place, window count and time for 48 hours. Nothing about you goes into them beyond that, and they’re never shown with a name, contact detail or price. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it doesn’t check in at all. The × on a card hides them for a week.
Why
- To answer your request, prepare your quote and, if you order, make and deliver it.
- To email you about new products and offers, only if you ticked that box. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
Who handles it
Our own staff, and the systems we use to run the business: workflow automation, customer records, quoting and invoicing; and Google, which processes the analytics data described above. If you order, we share what’s needed with our manufacturing partner and the carrier. If you ask for an installer, we share your area with the installer we suggest, and your contact details only with your agreement.
We don’t sell personal information.
Your choices
