The short version: both sell made-to-measure shutters you measure and fit yourself. The Shutter Store sells several materials in the continental US; we sell one, solid poplar, in the US and Canada, with every window priced as you add it.
Who they are
The Shutter Store describes itself as a US company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and as “supply only do-it-yourself online retailers”[1]. Its ranges include vinyl, wood-core, faux wood and luxe lines, and an American Wood range in “solid Poplar hardwood”[2].

Where The Shutter Store is stronger
- Choice of materials. If you want vinyl for a bathroom or a lower-cost faux wood, it sells them; we don’t.
- A published dispatch time. It states 2–3 weeks for American Wood[4]. We confirm lead time on each quote rather than publishing one.
- Free shipping on all orders, per its shipping page[4].
Where we’re different
- Canada. It doesn’t ship outside the continental USA[4]. We ship across Canada except Quebec, quoted in Canadian dollars ($230 – $290 CAD for the same 24 × 36 in window).
- Prices before your sizes. Our cost page and designer show a range for any window size straight away. What shutters cost
- Hidden tilt without a percentage surcharge.
- Shapes. We make arches, half-rounds, angled tops and circles. Arched and shaped windows
- A free design consultation by video or phone before you order.
Which to choose
If you’re in the continental US and want vinyl or faux wood, or a published dispatch time, The Shutter Store covers that. If you’re in Canada, want solid wood in an arch or shaped window, or want to see the price of every window before you talk to anyone, that’s what we built Shutter Boys for. Our shutters are one product: solid American poplar, made to the measurements you take, priced online window by window, and fitted by you. Price your windows
