What to check, by kind of home
Condo towers
Tall glass and a balcony door in the same wall. Tier-on-tier panels or a bypass track usually work better than single full-height panels. Check your corporation’s rules on what shows from outside before you order.
Older houses and semis
Openings settle over the decades and are often out of square. Measure both diagonals; if they differ by more than about 6 mm, an outside mount may suit it better.
New builds
Window returns are sometimes shallow, which limits the louver size for an inside mount. Measure the depth to the glass and to the handles.
Installing
We’re building a list of independent installers across the GTA. Ask on your quote and we’ll tell you who is available near you. You arrange and pay the installer directly.
Condo windows, framed and fitted
Floor-to-ceiling condo glass often has no deep, square opening to mount into. A mounting frame gives the panels a true edge to hang from. Add one per window in the designer, or leave a note and we’ll tell you which openings need it.
GTA municipalities
Linked names have their own page with that municipality’s housing and weather figures.
