Updated
The short version: 3 Day Blinds says Next Day Blinds “has permanently closed”[2]. If you have NDB shutters, keep your paperwork and contact the address on that page about any open order or warranty question. If you were about to buy, you’ll need another shutter maker, and this page compares the options.
What happened to Next Day Blinds
3 Day Blinds publishes a page for Next Day Blinds customers. On October 30, 2026 it said: “Next Day Blinds has permanently closed,” and that “Many of the talented Design Consultants, Installation Experts, and Support Staff from Next Day Blinds have joined 3 Day Blinds”[2]. It doesn’t say 3 Day Blinds bought the company, and it gives no date for the closure. Next Day Blinds’ own shutters page was still online on the same day[1], so you may still find it in search results.
The shutters Next Day Blinds sold
From its shutters page, as published[1]:
- Hardwood: “Since we introduced our hardwood shutters collection in 2001”.
- Made in Maryland: “we design and build all of our shutters in our Maryland factory”.
- Matched to the trim: “finished with a premium paint or stain that seamlessly integrates with your existing mill-work and window trim”, with custom paint as its standard.
- Guarantee: “We guarantee our products for a lifetime, and our installations are protected against error for a decade.”
The page didn’t list louver sizes, frame styles or prices.

Warranty and open orders
3 Day Blinds’ page doesn’t say it honours Next Day Blinds warranties. What it says is: “We will do our best to review your order details and assist where possible”, with an email address and phone number, and a recommendation to email because phone hold times may be long. It asks for your name, phone number, order details and photos[2]. Do that first, and keep copies of your contract and any warranty paperwork.
Repairs you can do yourself
The common shutter faults are mechanical and fixable without the original maker: louvers that won’t stay where you put them, a panel that sags or rubs, a magnet or catch that no longer holds, or a scuffed finish.
- Fix loose louvers: tension screws, pins and staples.
- Repair or replace: what’s worth fixing, and when a new panel or window makes more sense.
- Repainting, if the finish is worn.
We make complete shutters, not parts for other makers’ shutters, so we can’t supply a replacement louver for an NDB panel.
Adding matching shutters to more rooms
You don’t have to match exactly; shutters in different rooms rarely sit side by side. Getting close needs three things from the shutters you have:
- Louver width: measure one louver from edge to edge. We make 2½, 3½ and 4½ in. Choosing a louver size
- Frame and panel style: flat or moulded edges. We make three moulding levels, from flat to a routed, stepped profile.
- Colour: NDB painted to match the trim[1], so the trim paint’s brand, name and sheen is usually the colour you want. Name it in the designer and we’ll colour-match it.
If you were about to buy from Next Day Blinds
Next Day Blinds sold a service: someone came to the house, measured, and installed. Two kinds of company now offer something like that, and a third offers the product without the visit.

3 Day Blinds’ warranty page says shutter “components and workmanship are covered for the lifetime of the product” for the original buyer with proof of purchase; that Reserve shutter finishes are warrantied for life and Reserve Plus and Arborvue finishes for 3 years; and that its installation is covered for up to one year[4]. Our comparison of in-home sellers is in Budget Blinds and 3 Day Blinds compared.
Where an in-home service is stronger
- Someone else measures and fits, and stands behind both.
- You see samples at home, against your own walls and trim.
- One visit for everything: shutters, blinds and shades on the same order.
Where ordering from us is different
- A price before anyone visits. The designer prices every window as you add it. What shutters cost
- Solid wood throughout, painted or stained in any colour you name. Why poplar
- Shapes: arches, half-rounds, angled tops and circles. Arched and shaped windows
- Your own pace. Bedrooms now, the rest later, with matching louvers and colour.
Our shutters are one product: solid American poplar, made to the measurements you take, priced online window by window, and fitted by you. Price your windows
Which suits you
| If you… | Look at |
|---|---|
| have an NDB order in progress or a warranty question | 3 Day Blinds’ page for NDB customers, first |
| want someone to measure and install new shutters | An in-home seller such as 3 Day Blinds, or a local shutter company |
| are happy to measure and fit, and want solid wood priced online | Shutter Boys |
| want to add rooms that match NDB shutters you already have | Any maker offering your louver size and a colour match; we make 2½, 3½ and 4½ in |
| have a loose louver or a sagging panel | Our repair guides, before replacing anything |
Replace one window, or the whole house?
With the original maker gone, a shutter that can’t be repaired has to be replaced by someone else’s. Before deciding, check each window:
- Frame: still square and firmly fixed? A loose frame can often be re-screwed; a cracked one usually means a new shutter.
- Hinges and panels: do the panels close evenly without rubbing? Sagging is often a loose hinge screw.
- Louvers: do they hold their angle? If not, the tension can usually be adjusted. Fix loose louvers
- Finish: worn paint is a repaint job, not a replacement.
If only one or two windows need replacing, price just those: a 24 × 36 in window is $160 – $200 and a 36 × 48 in window $320 – $400 in our basic build, before tax and shipping. Matching the louver size and trim colour of the shutters you keep matters more than matching the maker. If most of the house needs new shutters, pricing every window at once in the designer shows the whole cost before you decide.
Keeping older shutters in good shape
Shutters bought years ago mostly need what any painted wood needs: dusting, a damp (not wet) cloth for marks, and air moving behind the panels in steamy rooms. Tilt the louvers open after a shower, and wipe off condensation in winter rather than leaving it on the wood. If the finish has worn through on the louver edges, a light sand and a coat of the same paint is usually enough. Cleaning and care and condensation on shutters cover both.
How to compare quotes from any seller
- Is the company still taking and fulfilling orders where you live? Check the service-area page for your address.
- What’s included? Product, measuring and installation priced separately or together.
- What is it made of? Solid hardwood, a wood composite, or a vinyl or foam core. Composite vs wood
- Who holds the warranty, and how do you claim? A warranty is only useful while someone answers it.
- What’s the lead time on your quote?
- Do you pay a deposit, and when is the rest due?
Shades for the openings shutters don’t suit
Next Day Blinds sold shades and blinds too. If you need those as well, our sister company, Shade Boys, makes roller shades, cellular shades, zebra blinds, wood blinds and patio door blinds to measure. A sliding door you use all day is usually better with a shade than a shutter.
Next Day Blinds and 3 Day Blinds are trademarks of their owners. Shutter Boys isn’t affiliated with either company, and this page isn’t endorsed by either. What we say about them comes from their own pages, checked October 30, 2026. This isn’t legal advice about any warranty; for that, read your own paperwork or ask a lawyer.
Common questions
Is Next Day Blinds still in business?
According to 3 Day Blinds, no: its page for Next Day Blinds customers says “Next Day Blinds has permanently closed.” Neither company’s pages we checked on October 30, 2026 gave a date.
Did Next Day Blinds sell plantation shutters?
Yes. Its shutters page, still online in October 2026, describes a hardwood shutter collection introduced in 2001, made in its Maryland factory and finished in paint or stain to match your trim.
What happens to my Next Day Blinds warranty?
Next Day Blinds’ page said it guaranteed its products “for a lifetime” and installations for a decade. 3 Day Blinds’ page for NDB customers doesn’t say it takes over those warranties; it says it will “do our best to review your order details and assist where possible.” Contact details are on that page.
How much were Next Day Blinds shutters?
Its shutters page didn’t publish prices; they were quoted after an in-home visit. For comparison, our solid poplar shutter for a 36 × 48 in window is shown live on this page.
Can I add shutters that match my Next Day Blinds shutters?
Often, yes. Measure the louver width and frame style you have, and name the paint colour of your trim; we make 2½, 3½ and 4½ in louvers, three moulding levels, and colour-match paint or stain.
Is Shutter Boys connected to Next Day Blinds or 3 Day Blinds?
No. They’re separate companies, and we don’t service or warranty their products.
