Narrower louvers for smaller windows
In the 27% of homes that are apartments or condos, windows are often narrower or set in shallow frames. 2½ in louvers suit a small window and need the least depth.
Wide louvers for a view
50% of homes are detached houses with larger windows to the yard. 4½ in louvers mean fewer, wider slats and the most view when they're open, if the opening is deep enough for them to tilt.
