Measure each side three times

With 62% of homes built in 1980 or earlier, openings that have shifted over the years are common. Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom and the height at the left, centre and right, then check both diagonals. If the diagonals differ by more than about ¼ in, a mounting frame covers the difference.
