Older door openings
74% of homes are decades old, and older door openings settle. Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom; a mounting frame gives the track a straight line to run on.
Sliding doors to the yard
In a city of mostly detached houses, the patio door is usually a wide sliding glass door. Bypass shutters slide on a track in front of it, so nothing swings into the room and the door opens with the panels stacked to one side.
Afternoon sun
15 days a year reach 30 °C. Louvers tilted up block high sun while still letting you see out, which a curtain or vertical blind can't do.
