Shutter BoysStained wood shutters in Belleville
Sun and homes in Belleville
From July to August, Belleville's average highs reach 25 °C or more, and about 8 days a year reach 30 °C. That's fewer hot days than 63% of the 160 Canadian cities we have climate figures for.
33% of homes date from 1960 or earlier, 19% from 2001 or later, and owners live in 63% of them.
Quinte West, 18 km away, has much the same number of days a year at 30 °C or more (8).

Matching original woodwork
With 33% of homes this old, many still have stained trim and doors. Name the stain, or send a photo of the trim beside a window, and we match the shutters to it. Poplar's colour varies from board to board, so a stained shutter looks like natural wood rather than one flat colour.
Cold winters
A stain sinks into the wood instead of forming a layer on top, so a stained shutter moves with the seasons just as a painted one does. Keep winter humidity reasonable and both finishes stay sound.
