They also provide excellent protection against wind driven rain because aluminum doesn’t allow moisture inside unlike glass. However, aluminum isn’t recommended for areas exposed to heavy winds like coastal regions and high altitude environments.
Now that we’ve gone over the top 3 choices lets talk a bit more detail about each material.
First thing we should mention about vinyl shuttering is if you live in a humid climate you shouldn’t use the same old window screens you had in your previous house because they won’t hold humidity well enough and could warp. If you’re going to install a screen door instead of installing shutters you need to buy vinyl screening. We recommend getting screen doors from shutter boys as a replacement for windows and shutters.
