Shade outside the glass

With 78 days a year at 90°F or more, exterior aluminum louvers or rolling shutters can shade a window before the sun reaches the glass. Inside, tilting wood louvers control light and privacy from the room.

Winter outside

63 freezing nights a year mean ice and snow on anything mounted outside. Interior shutters stay out of the weather entirely and are adjusted from the room.

Aluminum inside the house

Indoors, aluminum usually appears as a stiffener hidden inside vinyl shutters, not as a shutter on its own. For an interior shutter, solid wood needs no metal core.
