Cost of California Shutters in Queen Creek Arizona
Queen City AZ. We love this place. But it isn’t cheap. If your home was built after 1996 and needs shuttering…it’s going to cost about $13k to install quality shutters. So if your building is less than 5 years old, chances are you’re probably getting screwed here….the cheapest ones I found were $5K+ which would be crazy expensive for something like windows and doors but definitely reasonable for some really nice shutters.
So my recommendation would be to get quotes. Don’t trust those who just say “I’ll take care of everything” because they almost always end up ripping people off and then you’re stuck paying them again for another job down the road. Make sure someone actually shows up to measure things properly, takes measurements properly, checks references for accuracy, does some research on the types of materials you’re interested in, etc.. And when the guy says he knows about the type of material you want and “knows his stuff,” listen carefully. They should tell you exactly why he thinks it will work better/look nicer. And remember, there is nothing wrong with being picky; if a particular style seems boring, uninspiring or just plain ugly to you, go somewhere else. You won’t regret it.
Also consider the amount of labor involved. If it sounds ridiculous…like it will take 10 guys 2 whole days to put up 1 window unit…or 20 hours per door…you need to find a different contractor, or ask around until you’ve got multiple options. Because if the first person tells you it’s impossible without spending X dollars, you’d better believe him. It probably is. Or if they try telling you it only costs Y dollars with no explanation for that, you might be able to negotiate, since it’s obviously worth more than Z dollars. Just keep asking questions until you figure out how much each task usually costs, and whether it’s possible to reduce costs somehow. Also check your state licensing requirements for contractors. Some states require licenses of certain tradespeople while other states don’t.
