I am proud of my work history. I started working in construction at the age of 8 with my dad. I built houses until I was 21 years old. At 21 I got tired of living someone else’s dream for myself and decided to pursue something different. We bought our first home and opened our own custom framing shop in 2008. My father died unexpectedly in 2010. After his death I had my son and began doing remodels again but this wasn’t enough… So, after 3 yrs of doing remodeling my wife suggested we go back into framing. She knew that was what she wanted to do since we’d always talked about opening a framery together.
So in 2011, my husband and I quit our jobs to spend every waking moment trying to get this thing going. For 4 months we worked 14h days to save enough to move everything out west. By September 2012 we opened for business. Today we run 2 full time employees, 1 part time employee and still struggle to keep pace! (My father was a small businessman with no help, now we’ve created a monster). And yet, despite all these struggles, we’re having fun while doing this crazy stuff everyday because we truly enjoy what we do.
