As mentioned above, vinyl is generally cheaper than wood, however, wood is designed to withstand the outdoors as well as indoor environments making it perfect for colder areas. In fact, some studies show that for homes near lakes, ocean water and high winds that wood has higher durability.

In this post I will be showing a few different ways to install motorized shutters in a north port home or condo building. My focus will include installing them in a way which minimizes damage to windows, maximizing energy efficiency, and minimizing noise/vibration. If you already own a house like mine that has traditional wooden shutters, I hope some of these tips prove useful to you.
