This eliminates the risk of accidentally raising windows during the day; simply use your hand like normal until dusk and then tap the screen like a keyboard for quick and convenient lowering. If you’re wondering why someone would install this style of door instead of aluminum composite doors….
There are 2 main types of wooden shutters used in homes today — tilt-latches & roller blinds. They both perform the same function but they differ greatly in operation and aesthetics. A latch type shutter consists of several thin pieces hinged together allowing them to slide horizontally across windows, thereby providing insulation and privacy while still maintaining sunlight and ventilation. A roller blind shutter uses thick panels which roll vertically across the top of a window opening. Though many homeowners prefer roller shades because they offer additional insulating qualities, they lack horizontal slats which allow for natural daylighting and ventilation. Roller shutters come in styles ranging from traditional black vinyl to contemporary faux bamboo designs available anywhere curtains go. Tilt-latches offer no insulation nor shading benefits whereas roller shutters offer varying degrees depending upon the size and placement of louvers incorporated inside.
