California Shutters come in many different materials including but most commonly wooden shutters made of solid Pine or Western Red Cedar, PVC Vinyl Shutters, Composite Shutts, Aluminum Shutters, Steel Shutts, Fiberglass Shutts, Wooden Shutts, PVC Shutters, Composite Shutts, aluminum shutts, and steel shutts…
Wooden California Shutters come in two main types: Solid pine shutters vs vinyl shutters. Both offer great benefits. However both have downsides.
For example, solid wood shutters have higher life expectancy than vinyl shutters since they won’t fade like vinyl shutters will after years of use. But the downside is that they can be expensive due to labor costs. On average, solid wood shutters cost 10% more then vinyl shutters per square foot. And they take longer to install because they must first dry which takes days.
Vinyl shutters come in 3 styles: Traditional style, Garden Style & Contemporary style. All have advantages. They range anywhere from $15-$50/sq ft depending on size. These shutters tend to have lower cost than solid wood or composite shutters. Because they can be installed faster, vinyl shutters tend to go up cheaper then other shutters.
