This is a follow-up post to my original article with pictures comparing four different types of Cali shutters: Wood frame (with sliders), Wood frames without slats (also called “wood blinds” because they cover windows like those used with Venetian Blinds). These come standard either vertical sliding style, horizontal rolling style, some combination of both, or with no slides and just roll down/open. We call this type of window a ‘wallboard,’ for obvious reasons. The other 2 variations include vinyl framed versions which use aluminum instead of wooden framing material; a flat panel option that covers most parts of the wall except for around doors and cabinets, often referred to simply as “window film”
