In part seven I introduce the concept of reputation management. If you follow me through our four step series, you’ll see why reputation management takes priority above all else. And yes, I still believe building relationships is key but they must be built honestly with integrity, transparency and consistency. A person who builds their connections in a way that harms others is doing harm to themselves and ultimately does nothing good for anyone around them.
So we talk about building your personal brand because once someone learns or finds out something negative about us, it affects how they view us, whether it was false news or bad information. So our reputations are impacted negatively every day and we must constantly work to improve ours to stay above water.
Here again, some people use the term reputation management incorrectly. Some take pride in hiding mistakes. They feel it makes them look better somehow which is just silly. Others try to manage their image by deleting content. Yes, they delete stuff and then regret it. But guess what happens when you delete negative things from the internet — other people find out about it and it goes viral. People start digging.

Before getting started with installing shutters, consider your options first. When selecting which style of window coverings you prefer, keep these factors in mind:
Your home décor preference. If you like contemporary decorating styles, select vinyl shutters because they won’t affect this design aesthetic. But if you like traditional patterns, pick wooden shutters instead. Of course, some homeowners enjoy both modern and classic designs simultaneously; in this case, both types of shutters will work well together inside your cabinetry system.
Functionality issues with your windows — whether it be privacy concerns or heat transfer. Does your area receive lots of outdoor sunlight during certain hours of day? Or does your home experience excessive energy loss through inadequate insulation? These questions must determine the type of exterior covering material to use. Some materials perform better than other materials in terms of insulating efficiency and reducing noise levels indoors. For instance, most solid wood products typically provide excellent natural soundproofing properties while offering superior thermal resistance. Vinyl films, however, offer high durability but come without significant natural acoustic attributes. They also tend to reflect sounds back around a house rather than absorbing them. So, depending upon the situation, each type of exterior home covering solution offers something different. If, say, you live next door to busy highways, then perhaps you should invest in thick, highly insulated shuttering. And if you reside near noisy neighbors or schools, perhaps you would benefit from lightweight panels or light film solutions.
How many shades are available? Most manufacturers offer multiple colors of similar sizes and shapes to match most window profiles. Depending on the size of your opening, you’ll either get four of just six slats per panel or two pairs of opposite slats. Many vendors supply matching trim pieces alongwith the main body of the shutter. These decorative accents enhance the overall appearance of the finished project.
If you opt for custom shutter manufacturing, check the sizing guide provided by the dealer who installs your shutters. In order to maintain proper alignment and prevent gaps between slats, shutters should conform to specific “standard” measurements — i.e., length x width.
