Get yourself a good installer who knows how to install shutters properly and get them manufactured correctly for the home or condo they will be placed in.
Make sure you use the proper size hinges based on both dimensions/width and length measurements taken while measuring the frame widths around your windows.
Check each door jamb twice, once going inside the house then outside. Make sure everything fits snugly together and check again after install.
Doors should fit flush against the wall but not touch the floor or ceiling. If doors stick slightly outwards this is ok since they would just push back into place when closed. When installing shutters make note of these slight differences to avoid headaches down the road. Do NOT allow them to move freely and try to adjust them until finalize installation.
Install shutters first thing upon delivery to ensure no damage was caused during transit.
After closing your front entry doors go through the whole house checking every window and sliding glass door including those above garage level.
