What Type of Construction Does Your Building Have?
If your building was already built when you purchased the lot then chances are they probably did some customization during construction.
For example; concrete slabs, brickwork, metal roofing, stone patio, steel beams. Even though these things aren’t typically considered part of the house design some people like to see something unique and original. If you had custom windows installed or other structural changes made you could have an extra cost associated with making them function properly.
How Much Can A Custom Installation Really Add Up?
Because every job is different and each project requires specific measurements and requirements we cannot estimate exactly how long your particular job will take. However, once we get started you know we are going to keep you informed, and you can always contact us if anything goes awry.
We generally offer 3 options (although this will vary depending upon the nature of your project), either full service, DIY install,or we will recommend hiring a contractor to complete the entire project including preparation and framing.
DIY Installations Generally Don’t Involve Framing unless They Do Something Else Differently.
When someone says a DIY installation they usually mean hanging the blinds themselves or possibly putting together a sliding door / window system but there is no real indication on whether they intend having a home builder come back and frame the structure after they have completed assembling everything else, or if no further action takes place then the work is considered finished. We suggest getting estimates from 2 experienced contractors.
