This should include the basic dimensions you wish to protect, but keep in mind some custom measurements could be worked into sizing depending upon your design preferences. Here are the basics (as per most manufacturers). Please note this guide does NOT provide measurements in relation to their style names/categories. For example: Custom Style 1 would be different than Classic 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Also, remember these examples relate only to single hung windows and no dormer work. Dormers can take up an additional inch or two per height, therefore double hanging and other options may be possible. If you do find yourself working with multiple sash choices please contact us and we’ll help you determine the correct size based upon your needs.

1×2 = Single Hung
Single hung designs offer superior privacy control plus they allow for increased ventilation via sliders and vents on either side of the frame opening. They come standard lengths ranging from 42 inches up to 96 inches, allowing for almost endless customization opportunities. However, keep in mind longer width frames won’t fit through traditional door openings.
NOTE: Because they’re typically designed as double hung systems, a separate hardware package must be purchased. A typical length range is 44″-48″ feet long, however, lengths under 40″ feet need to meet specific building codes for width requirements or special order considerations may apply. Keep in mind, larger width windows/frames generally equal shorter overall heights which can lead to complications if working around architectural details like balconies or decks.
