However, I do believe my suggestions below could help those less knowledgeable contractors get closer to getting bids down while still meeting expectations, and perhaps being able to find better deals through volume purchases.
When searching for prices please consider these numbers first; If it takes 20 feet of wood @ $100 per foot then each window size would cost $1000 to install. When calculating windows sizes remember to subtract 10% because the shutters have some internal air space. Also remember to round it down unless specifically told otherwise by the installer. One additional tip, ask the contractor to provide a rough estimate without doing anything except giving the project dimensions verbally. They’ll often say “I usually charge X amount” but you really shouldn’t pay them until everything is agreed upon (contract signed), including material costs.

In this edition I am going to provide some insight regarding trends of California shutters being installed on homes in Duluth Minnesota.
