Most people prefer blinds over shutters simply because with some shuttering products, once opened, they cannot be closed again. Blinds are available in a wide range of colors, textures, patterns, shapes and other attributes making them perfect choices for many types of buildings. Shading fabrics help conserve energy costs by reducing solar gains. And, unlike shutters, blinds can always be adjusted to meet changing needs.

California’s climate varies greatly from city to city. For example, San Francisco enjoys mild winters and warm summers while Fresno experiences hot dry summers and cold wet winters. These variations mean that homeowners must pay attention to different design considerations than those of other regions. Here are some general guidelines for California home owners who would like to install a new window treatment solution:
• If you live in a coastal region such as Northern California, then consider installing a high impact resistant vinyl, aluminum or composite shutter system in lieu of fiberglass because these materials resist water damage well.
