We started working on these posts back around Fall 2019, but wanted to get them published early given that they would help us understand some big shifts that happened during 2020 which led to these posts being completed earlier than normal.
In January 2020, Amazon announced that many of its sellers are experiencing “delivery delays due to coronavirus lockdowns” impacting nearly every industry sector, including consumer electronics and home furnishings among other categories.[11] As of March 2nd 2020[update], the company reported sales declines totaling 40% across multiple sectors; the decline was partially offset through price increases. [12][13] Although Amazon does not publicly release detailed seller figures, independent analysts project total quarterly revenue could fall short of prior projections by $600 million.[14] While these numbers represent only a fraction of overall retail store traffic, similar lockdowns have already had negative effects worldwide,[15] impacting foot traffic at brick-and-mortar stores.[16]
Accordingly, while demand remains high worldwide for both ecommerce sites like Amazon and brick-and mortar retailers, the combination of increasing competition and lower average order values have caused traditional companies to rethink how they operate business models and marketing strategies going forward.
For example, while online shopping continues to increase globally, offline customer visits and purchases decreased significantly (including a 20 % decrease just in the US). Similarly, according to Forrester Consulting research, global spending growth in Q4 2019 slowed sharply to 3%, down from 13% in 2018. Meanwhile, sales volume growth declined to 9 percent, down substantially from 18% in 2017.[26]
This shift toward digital commerce presents unique opportunities to brands seeking ways to stand apart from competitors—as well as risks to those who continue relying solely on physical storefront locations.

How Do Motors Work?
Motorized window coverings are usually powered through either remote controls or sensors embedded inside blinds/shades. Remote controls allow homeowners to easily program different settings while sensors measure sunlight exposure and automatically raise shades when necessary–this saves energy used for opening windows. For optimal efficiency, most types of motorized windows utilize solar cells located on the shade material. When enough sunlight hits the cell, power generated by the sun causes the fabric covering the shade to rise, allowing natural light to enter homes while minimizing unwanted glare. Is My Space Heating Up Already?!
Heat pumps use an evaporator coil to absorb indoor warmth during cooler months. A fan then moves warm air outside via vents. As temperatures increase, the system switches gears, changing airflow direction and reducing heat losses. Because the unit uses electricity, the only thing keeping the house cool is the homeowner’s thermostat setting. Heat pump air conditioning units run 24 hours per day because the compressor runs continuously in order to reduce demand on the grid. How Much Does It Cost?
Cost varies widely based on several factors. One large factor is size; larger screens cost less than smaller ones.

California shutters are manufactured using multiple layers of solid pine lumber, which gives them extra strength, durability and fire resistance. They work well on windows that face west since they insulate better against winter winds than those facing east. Since California shutters block sunlight completely during the day, homeowners usually install these products either in tandem with blinds, allowing them some natural light during daylight hours, or only at night. If they are installed at night, homeowners should use blackout drapes or covers to keep heat gain down during daytime periods (and reduce potential energy costs). In addition, many window treatments include privacy screens, roller shades, shade sails and sheer curtains, which will naturally help provide additional privacy for occupants inside homes.
WHAT ARE CALIFORNIA SHUTTERS AND HOW DO THEY COMPARE TO OTHER WINDOW TREATMENTS?
California shutters are considered “hardwood vinyl composite panels.” These types of vertical sheathing systems feature wood veneer materials sandwiched around polyvinyl chloride film; this combination creates a weatherproof panel that resists termites, rot and mildew while maintaining high insulation values. While similar properties apply to other kinds of wood siding products, most California shutters offer superior moisture management and thermal efficiency. Some manufacturers go beyond just offering quality features in their composite panels — they actively monitor market research for consumer preferences and incorporate environmentally friendly practices like renewable content manufacturing that contribute toward sustainable growth.
SHOULD I INSTALL A GAS FIREPLACE OR AN INSULATED BRACKETED STOVE IN MY TEMPERATE HOME WITH FOUNDATION ISSUES? DOES IT MAKE PERFECT SENSE FOR ME?
Whether an insulated fireplace bracketed stove is recommended depends mostly upon building codes and regulations rather than home heating needs. Insulated appliances are typically used where air handling units are located nearby because cold attic space tends to promote condensation buildup issues due to higher relative humidity levels. Also, higher temperature differences between warm indoor spaces and cooler outdoors areas mean that conventional gas furnaces tend to produce relatively less efficient combustion processes, making it necessary to size stoves according to larger BTU requirements.

If you live in the greater Atlanta area GA you are certainly not going to pay more than $4K just to install shutters in your home, but depending upon which style you like & what quality you require they will cost approximately $5k-$15k+ per window. Cost Effective Solutions
Most customers find that the most cost effective solution is going to be custom solutions, which requires some degree of customization because no prefabricated stock units exist. Custom shutters typically include several components unique to each project including trim pieces, mullions, sash sweeps, top rails, bottom rail, sidelights, and other items often times required by insurance companies.
Why Can’t They Just Use Stock Units?
There’s nothing wrong with this approach but there are many issues, depending upon the type of unit being purchased. For example, certain types of windows (including double hung, casement, slide, tilt/turn) cannot easily be cut down to suit non standard width measurements. Some manufactures produce these units in different sizes than those generally ordered by general contractors, resulting in having to purchase multiple configurations for projects requiring specific sized panels. Furthermore, sometimes manufacturers will require extra finishing like edge strips, crown moulding, decorative moldings, etc. These additions take time to install, potentially making them less attractive options due to adding additional hidden costs. Finally, installing stock units does not always involve proper safety precautions in construction sites, which creates liability risks. (If someone gets injured while setting up stock units, you’re liable). However, not all cases fall under this category. Sometimes a contractor just wants the same color shutter across his entire home without worrying about getting custom orders. Other times, he simply needs a single panel installed that covers half the length of a bay window. Regardless of the situation, it really depends on the client, whether they wish to go with prefabricated parts or use a custom order.
