Prices had already increased roughly 4 % since 2016. But the real kicker was the price increase after Hurricane Michael hit Florida earlier this year…and then again in October. By mid November 2018, they raised prices yet another 1 ¼ percent due to higher material costs, labor and demand. And those are just a few examples. When I say “California Shutters price per square foot goes up every single year” it becomes crystal clear why. California shutters are used primarily indoors but they can still provide great weather protection outdoors. They use solid Wood materials which gives them a heavy weight. Because these products get handled daily, it takes a lot of abuse and wear & tear each season they go through. So if homeowners keep adding additional accessories/features like sliding panels, louvers, screens, blinds, roman shades etc. to a window system; eventually their entire install kit could become worth 10 times as much than originally paid for and end up being sold for thousands upon thousands of dollars once installed! Bottom Line: The average price rose almost $300 / SF in 2 ½ years. However, these observations aren’t absolute truths due to customer preferences changing every season without notice. Our standard line includes both coastal styles as well as Tuscan styled shutters that offer multiple options for window profiles ranging from traditional casement windows to double hung windows to sliding patio doors.
