I am going through my own experience buying shutters for my home. I was originally planning on hiring someone else but then decided to install them myself. Here is my story.
When I moved to Los Angeles from Seattle back in 2012 I knew nothing about windows and blinds other than that they kept me warm during the winter months. My husband had just started working at his current job and we wanted something nice to show our friends who came to visit us that we lived in a “big city”. So you really want to use it only indoors where you won’t see the sun shine directly on the wood. If it gets wet you’ll get mildew or mold growth, especially around areas like hinges.
