We recommend shutting windows on both sides of doors when possible. For sliding patio door installations we always install the bottom track first then place the top track on top of it. It makes things easier because you just move and slide the tracks instead of having to align and screw them together which takes longer especially under poor light or if working with small hands. We also strongly suggest keeping a few extra screws on hand when doing a large job like ours since it does not come apart once put together.
