Vinyl shutters provide better insulation against sun heat than timber, which makes them great options during hot summer months. They also feature excellent sound reduction properties; however they aren’t suitable for high wind climates because they tend to blow down easily.

1. Make sure the window opening is clean, dry and flat and the frame isn’t warped or bent.
