In this episode I will be reviewing some recent updates the company has made regarding manufacturing processes and building materials used since 2020.
We had many requests to provide additional information to help customers find the perfect wood and vinyl products best suited for each project they encounter. As always, there are multiple factors involved with choosing which type of shutters work well together but here are my top 3 tips:
1. Pick the Right Frame Material: Most homes in Southern CA use wood frames because of the warm tones/grains found in both redwood trees and Douglas Fir trees. These species of tree naturally produce warmer colors than most other types of available options like Pine or Cedar. If you live outside of SoCal though, you still have great options for framing your windows with these different woods due to the availability of many manufacturers who offer unique styles and finishes. Vinyl Frames have become increasingly popular especially after Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005. They offer excellent maintenance capabilities and typically come in lighter weight than solid wood frame units but that usually isn’t enough reason alone for picking them over solid timbers. One big benefit of selecting either style of window treatments over another would be the ability to customize them further down the road to blend seamlessly with existing architectural details around your home. A few design examples include adding custom hardware pieces to hang picture frames and hanging glass inserts in order to match the color palette of your overall exterior trimming while providing privacy without the hassle of blinds blocking light coming through the window.
