What happened in 2019 with shutters installations?
I took several trips across texas and found most people had installed shingles or flat panel windows which was great news since I knew the material they used was relatively inexpensive. However, many builders/contractors chose vinyl siding instead of wood products. Unfortunately this meant they had to use a lot of expensive window trim around each side of the sliding doors or windows. They also spent a lot of extra labor hours installing this trim because most contractors and installers aren’t familiar with proper cut angles and finishing techniques required in order to get good looks with these types of window frames. As a result of this trend some homeowners decided not to buy California shutters anymore. They realized all of those problems and opted for other cheaper options including cheap uPVC panels. This made us sad but glad that our business thrived during the years 2018 and early 2019. Many of them bought panels with high end finishes and also upgraded the quality of the frame, handles, sliders ect. We actually even started selling metal casings to clients who wanted something different than traditional wooden casing. Our sales grew dramatically during this period. But unfortunately, many people stopped ordering after getting a few bad experiences from friends or family members.
