But, the reason behind this step is that most tools like sawzall, miter boxes/compound miters, handsaw, circular saw, jig saw, router tables and routers come calibrated for specific measurements only. Thus they do not allow cutting unless those specifications are met perfectly. Even though you won’t be able to see it, rough cuts can vary widely.
By taking another measurement after roughing out material, you’ll ensure consistency in each part. For example, we recently purchased 10×8″ patio screens for one of our clients who wants extra protection to her pool area. She originally planned to use 4×8′ panels, but upon further inspection she realized that her existing openings weren’t large enough to fit comfortably.
