What Is A Shutter?:
California shutters are a great alternative to blinds because they offer privacy without blocking light like blinds would. They come in many different materials including aluminum which is the most common, wooden and composite (which looks like bamboo).
How Do We Make Them?:
There are 3 main ways to produce shutters:
1) Customized made by hand (handcrafted), usually takes 1 week or less to complete
2) Made to order, this method uses computer software to design each piece individually. These pieces will be manufactured by machine. Usually take 2 weeks but sometimes longer depending on complexity.
3) Machine cut/precut, these pieces are already created. This method saves both time & money but is more expensive than the other methods due to labor costs of manufacturing them.
Which One Should I Pick?
This depends entirely upon who is installing them for you. If someone else installed them then you should probably stick with the pre-made options (machine cuts).
