We’d rather be living somewhere else than Alabama but this home was chosen because of the location. Located in Montgomery County, AL, it sits on 2 lots totaling 578 sq ft. The lot is mostly level with no large tree branches, trees or shrubs obstructing views from inside and outside the house. It’s surrounded by mature pine trees which provide some shade during hot summer months. A few years ago, the original owner had built a small wooden deck around the property line which is currently being used for storage purposes. This is perfect for storing seasonal items like patio furniture, firewood or garden tools. A concrete driveway leads to front door while a gravel parking pad is located behind garage doors leading back to the detached single car garage/workshop area. The exterior walls of both houses are made up of brick and stucco exteriors giving the appearance of traditional architecture.
Inside of the house, many windows overlook beautiful landscaped yards including a pond stocked with koi fish just inside the main entrance gate. Inside the home, everything looks well maintained and functional as intended; however, due to the age of the home, several areas such as the kitchen floor show signs of wear, especially near baseboards. All appliances work properly although they could use replacing after 15 plus years of usage, especially the dishwasher. Most other fixtures function normally without issues, however, a couple of things are noticeably different than newer models. For example, the shower head does not allow water to run through multiple streams which would improve bathing experience in certain situations. Additionally, the faucets do not drain easily causing occasional clogs requiring manual flushing every so often. While these minor inconveniences aren’t deal breakers, they certainly are drawbacks for someone who prefers modern amenities and design choices.
