This week we’re going to talk about our newest project, the Eau Claire home. We installed 2 windows, 3 shades of shutters, and custom drapery panels in the dining/living area. We are really happy with the way the window looks and hope you enjoy seeing some of our work in person.

We use the term’shutter’ to collectively refer to either a paneled, slatted and screen style shutter product, whether made in Europe, Asia, Africa or USA. How to Install Your Dreaming Almond Blinds California Style.
To install your dreamy almond shutters, firstly measure and mark on both sides of window frame where the corners should go according to measurements given during order taking phase. Next remove existing window trim and apply primer paint to prevent moisture damage. Apply primer coat again after 15 minutes and then spray exterior stain onto primer coated surface evenly applying gentle pressure until completely dry. Once dried repeat same steps on other side of glass. After completion of these steps (before installing), wait another 10 hours. After drying take down your old shutters leaving only 1 inch around windows. Measure along top horizontal edge of windows and cut out excess material with razor blade without cutting into window sill. When finished measuring measure lengthwise across each side. Cut slats equal to width measured earlier and fit them carefully against outside edges of window framing. Use putty caulk at ends of each corner to secure it and use screws to hang on front and rear of window frames.
After completing above mentioned step, spray exterior sealer thoroughly following directions provided on cans. Then attach decorative hardware to each end of slat strips. Finally position window sashes, slide and gently close or raise shutters to achieve desired effect.

For example, if your apartment needs to cool during summer days due to extreme temperatures, shutters can save you money and protect your property from excessive heat loss. Also, they block light and reduce glare making rooms brighter and cooler. So no matter when your house gets hot in summers, consider installing shutters.
Finally, the type of window material matters more than anything else. When selecting shutters it really depends on your personal preferences. Some people love natural wood shutters and prefer the warm feel. Others enjoy the sleek, modern look of metal shutters. And still yet, another group prefers solid color shutters or custom designed shutters.
