I am going to address the following questions: what type should I use?, which shutters should I buy?, why should I purchase them? and yes, how expensive are these shutters?!
What Type of Motor Should I Use For My New Cali Shutters System?
There seems to be as many different types of motors available as there ways to install California Shutters. However, there are some things a buyer needs to consider first. Installing Your New Shutters
When installing shutters around windows and doors, use the following steps:
1. Start by removing window frames to allow space inside or outside your home to accommodate your new shutters. If possible, remove trim pieces along with the window frame. Be careful to avoid nails or screws sticking through the frame or siding, which could damage framing materials or exterior surfaces like brick or stucco.2. Remove old weather seals first, then paint them white or another light color – this will help prevent moisture from getting under shingles and rotting them prematurely;3. Measure your windows and determine width, length, depth, height and panes per wall location.4. Find matching profiles for each size shutters profile. Cut the profiles with a circular saw.5. Lay out the profiles, lining them up carefully and placing them together to ensure they fit perfectly, keeping the edges flush against the walls, door casings, windowsills and other structural components6.
