What We Learned From a Trip Down State Highway 99 in Southern Sonoma County:
We started from Petaluma/Santa Rosa area. I was interested in getting some shutters installed prior to my return home to Oregon so I asked around town and found several other people who wanted the same type of work done. Many homeowners already had wooden shutters which they liked but realized once they realized how heavy these things get after 4 years the roof would eventually cave in due to weight. Not only did these owners complain this to me multiple times but they said it was much better just to install vinyl ones versus having them replaced every few years. When discussing prices among different shops everyone charged $800-$1150 per pair.
When we arrived in Woodside we contacted a company called San Marin Shutters. They told us a quote was $1100 for 2 sets plus labor. Since we knew another shop quoted $850+ for 1 set and labor I decided to go check out those guys first. After going back and forth twice trying to get exact numbers the 2nd place was telling me a price $1000 cheaper then the original quote. So instead of dealing with a dishonest contractor we went back to San Marin. They gave us a lower range number than originally stated because the guy working there overheard us talking and they felt he should be compensated for his extra effort. However we ended up going with San Marin since they offered an additional discount if the customer purchased both pairs together. If you are doing yourself installing shaders please stay away from San Marin in case they try to con someone like this.
After checking out both shops and speaking with each vendor I chose San Marin because they were willing to have everything delivered to the jobsite while the crew worked without charging extra for delivery charges. Also their staff made sure I knew exactly what was covered under warranty with their products. Both crews got down right rude though when asking questions regarding why we weren’t buying both pairs. However the owner walked me through the entire experience including explaining warranties thoroughly so that’s always good.

Professional California Shutters Installation In Olivehurst
This summer I was working with this homeowner who had shuttered his home in Olivehurst. He told me he wanted a custom look but wasn’t certain which shutter would be ideal for him. After some careful analysis, he decided upon my favorite combination of colors, textures and styles—the classic French Country style.
To achieve this look, I first installed five different samples around four rooms in the house. Each sample measured 36 inches wide x 80″ high. Once I confirmed these measurements fit nicely inside each window frame, I ordered one full run of shutters made specifically for this homeowner’s property.
