Here’s my personal creed for installing shutters… I am only doing work for people who respect me enough to pay good money for quality products and service. If someone does NOT treat me fairly, then I walk away immediately because I cannot stand unethical business practices. For example; I refuse to deal with companies that use shady marketing tactics that try to get customers to buy multiple items at once or sell them something else under false pretenses. These types of things hurt both parties involved because the customer ends up getting ripped off and the company loses trust among potential clients. Also, I prefer to work with companies that offer fair pay rates with consistent and reasonable estimates rather than trying to take advantage of a person financially while working together.
Now it seems weird to tell someone that you’re going to charge them $5 per hour but after discussing everything thoroughly and showing them examples of other companies that do the same thing I’ve decided to lower my rate to $4 per hour plus tax and shipping charges (this way everyone makes less). But this still isn’t cheap labor. After all, you could hire a crew of 10 guys for half the price and they’d probably do a better job than just me. So why would anyone want to spend extra money on me? Well, my answer to that question is “because I’m awesome”.
