They come in both single and double hung varieties which makes choosing between them very confusing especially if you only have a small space to work with. But fear not! A few years ago I was visiting my mom who lives in a house built around 1884. But then later, some other painter added another darker tone, and from then on this area lost that original brightening effect. Eventually, white paint was mixed with charcoal dust until the entire wall turned dirty grey, making us feel bad whenever we stepped foot inside. We couldn’t stand living under that awful color, so we decided to repaint ourselves back to pure white, hoping to revive memories of happier times. Today, our old front door looks like it belonged to a different era than the rest because instead of having a solid coat of white, it boasts a subtle patterned design. My mother always hopes that someday soon the same thing will happen to the ugly spot behind her kitchen’s window. She wants to turn up the intensity level on that sunlight again. She thinks if everyone did what my mom does — live each day with passion, energy, creativity, and excitement — the world would transform overnight.
