Manual windows basically just rely on hand powered mechanisms to operate them instead of relying on electricity. As a result, they tend to weigh less. Also, because they lack power sources, you cannot use them during rainy weather and high wind conditions. Not until recently did companies come across electric actuators which are used to manually control most windows and shades. Electric Actuators tend to provide extra security to the buildings since they work perfectly during extreme temperatures and stormy climates and thus protect the building against lightning strikes. So essentially, these automated systems allow us homeowners to enjoy sunshine without being interrupted by rainstorms and strong winds.
